Aims of the association The development of scientific knowledge of the Mediterranean world and a better diffusion of this knowledge, the improvement of the educational system and of teaching programmes and research, and the promotion of cultural manifestations concerning the Mediterranean area. Objectives of the association The organization (or the support) of the various cultural manifestations which help to increase the knowledge of the Mediterranean world or the diffusion of this knowledge: to assist the realization and the diffusion of the publication called Encyclopedia of the Mediterranean; to aid research on various topics concerning the Mediterranean region; to help and support all forms of cultural expression (written, audio-visual, computer-based, etc…) which are consistent with the aims of the Association. Activities and means to realize the aims of the association to organize seminars, colloquiums, meetings, exhibitions, etc…; to provide scholarships and grants in order to develop intra-Mediterranean culture; to organize competitions in order to promote a better understanding of Mediterranean culture; to aid and assist the translation and propagation of books, expecially of the Encyclopedia of the Mediterranean; to seek aid for educational programmes or university departments which correspond to the principal aims of the Association; to help in audio-visual, information and other cultural productions refering to the Mediterranean area.
